L'impact de la taille et de l'ontogen\u00e8se sur la cin\u00e9matique de l'alimentation par succion chez l'axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum)."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Ce billet de blog r\u00e9sume notre r\u00e9cente publication <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.biologists.com\/bio\/article\/14\/7\/bio061860\/368617\/The-impact-of-size-and-ontogeny-on-suction-feeding\" title=\"papier\">papier<\/a> dans Biology Open, dans lequel nous avons \u00e9tudi\u00e9 comment la taille et le stade de d\u00e9veloppement affectent la cin\u00e9matique alimentaire des larves, des juv\u00e9niles et des adultes. <\/em>Ambystoma mexicanum<em> (axolotl).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Esp\u00e8ces p\u00e9adomorphes : les adultes ne sont-ils que de grosses larves ?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>La beaut\u00e9 embl\u00e9matique des axolotls provient de leur cycle de vie p\u00e9domorphique. En effet, dans ce type de cycle de vie, m\u00eame \u00e0 l'\u00e2ge adulte, les individus conservent des caract\u00e9ristiques habituellement observ\u00e9es uniquement chez les larves, telles que des branchies externes et des lobes labiaux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une autre cons\u00e9quence de la p\u00e9domorphie est le fait que les axolotls larvaires, juv\u00e9niles et adultes utilisent la m\u00eame m\u00e9thode pour attraper leurs proies : l'alimentation par succion. Cette m\u00e9thode consiste \u00e0 \u00e9largir rapidement la cavit\u00e9 buccale, ce qui cr\u00e9e un flux d'eau qui attire la proie dans la bouche (voir le sch\u00e9ma ci-dessous pour plus de d\u00e9tails).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/metamorphosis-project.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/decomposition_suction-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3455\" srcset=\"https:\/\/metamorphosis-project.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/decomposition_suction-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/metamorphosis-project.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/decomposition_suction-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/metamorphosis-project.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/decomposition_suction-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/metamorphosis-project.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/decomposition_suction-18x10.png 18w, https:\/\/metamorphosis-project.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/decomposition_suction.png 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Comme les axolotls adultes ressemblent aux larves et aux juv\u00e9niles et s'en nourrissent, on peut s'attendre \u00e0 ce que les diff\u00e9rences \u00e9ventuelles dans la fa\u00e7on dont ils capturent les proies soient uniquement dues \u00e0 leur plus grande taille.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ce que nous avons mesur\u00e9 ...<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour le v\u00e9rifier, nous avons enregistr\u00e9 des vid\u00e9os de larves, de juv\u00e9niles et d'adultes en train de manger leur repas (voir la vid\u00e9o ci-dessous) et nous avons mesur\u00e9 les mouvements d'alimentation de la t\u00eate, tels que les vitesses et les acc\u00e9l\u00e9rations de la m\u00e2choire et de l'hyo\u00efde, ou la largeur d'ouverture de la bouche et la d\u00e9pression de l'hyo\u00efde, ainsi que les moments et les dur\u00e9es associ\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"ontogen\u00e8se de l&#039;alimentation par succion axolotl\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Qok61uNQu_Q?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>... Ce que cela a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous avons constat\u00e9 que pour la plupart de ces variables, les valeurs augmentent r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement avec la taille, que l'individu soit une larve, un juv\u00e9nile ou un adulte. Cependant, pour certaines variables li\u00e9es \u00e0 la vitesse et \u00e0 l'acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration, le sch\u00e9ma est diff\u00e9rent : l'augmentation est r\u00e9guli\u00e8re entre les larves et les juv\u00e9niles, mais pour les adultes, les valeurs augmentent plus fortement avec la taille. D'un point de vue \u00e9cologique, cela pourrait signifier que m\u00eame si les larves et les adultes partagent le m\u00eame environnement (dans la nature, ils sont end\u00e9miques aux lacs de Xochimilco), ils ne sont pas en comp\u00e9tition pour la nourriture, car ils peuvent cibler des types de proies diff\u00e9rents. Par cons\u00e9quent, si le changement de r\u00e9gime alimentaire au cours du d\u00e9veloppement est confirm\u00e9, la compr\u00e9hension de la fa\u00e7on dont les axolotls se nourrissent au cours de leur ontogen\u00e8se pourrait \u00eatre cruciale pour les efforts de conservation.
